| Become A Fire-Rescue Volunteer! |
|
To become a member of a fire-rescue company, you must be at least 16 years of age, in reasonable health and have no criminal record. Training opportunities include:
Firefighter I - basic fire fighting
Firefighter II- advanced fire control
Fire-Officer
Fire Prevention
Hazardous materials containment
Search & Rescue
Water Rescue
Fire Instructor
First Responder-basic first aid techniques, 40 hour class
Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
EMT B- Basic Emergency Medical care - 121 hour class & clinical
Advanced life support provider including:
- EMT-Enhanced - 80 hours of class and 48 hours of clinical rotations
- EMT - Intermediate - 272 hours of class and 68 hours of clinical rotations
- Paramedic - 800-1200 hours of instruction, including 136 hours of clinical rotations
**Most companies require that members begin a training course within the first year of membership.
