| Become A Fire-Rescue Volunteer! | To become a member of a fire-rescue company, you must be at least 16 years of age, in reasonable health and have no criminal record. Training opportunities include: Firefighter I - basic fire fighting
Firefighter II- advanced fire control
Fire-Officer
Fire Prevention
Hazardous materials containment
Search & rescue
River rescue
Fire Instructor
First responder-basic first aid techniques, 40 hour class
Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
EMT B- Basic Emergency Medical care- 110 hour class & clinical
Advanced life support provider including: - Shock-trauma technician- 87 hours class & clinical
- Cardiac technician- 140 hours class & clinical
- Paramedic- 300 hour classroom & clinical preparation (Most companies require that members begin a training course within the first year of membership.)
